Head of Project Development
Noya
About Noya:
Noya is reversing climate change by removing CO2 from the atmosphere. We’re a scrappy team of engineers, scientists, and operators taking on the biggest problem anybody could be working on. We’ve developed a process that leverages abundant materials to remove CO2 directly from the air with dramatically lower capital and operating expenses than other approaches.
What This Role Is:
Our Head of Project Development is one of the most critical roles on the team, in both the short and long term. Reporting to Noya’s CEO, you will have the opportunity of a lifetime to build and lead Noya’s Deployments function, which will be responsible for deploying first-of-a-kind direct air capture units, building the supplier and contractor relationships to achieve planetary-scale impact, and more.
The Head of Project Development role is central to getting Noya’s direct air capture technology into the field. You will support the execution and management of Noya’s direct air capture deployment strategy, and you will lead hiring efforts to support these scale-up goals. You will lead negotiation efforts with land owners, injection well operators, and renewable energy project developers to line up all critical resources to bring Noya’s projects to life. Your day-to-day efforts will range from developing high-level, multi-year strategy to executing on smaller tasks in the pursuit of Noya’s goals.
On top of all of that, you will dive head-first into a sea of opportunity to build one of the most climate-critical technologies that is currently under development. Ultimately, we are looking for a curious, first-principles thinker who will break through walls to achieve Noya’s mission of accelerating the world towards carbon negativity.
What You’ll Do:
Secure all contractors and EPCs necessary to construct Noya’s projects and act as the main point-of-contact for all on-site activities
Lead all efforts to source, secure, and prepare locations for Noya’s future project installations
Lead US-based siting efforts to line up deployment locations for Noya’s direct air capture processes
Lead efforts to staff up and operate all projects in the field; build maintenance staffing plans, hire maintenance staff, and ensure projects achieve operational targets
Support preparation for Board of Directors meetings
What We’re Looking For:
7-10+ years of experience in operations within hardware-centric or industrial-centric companies
Experience either deploying first-of-a-kind projects or creating deployment playbooks for existing technologies
Experience negotiating long-term infrastructure project partnerships across multiple stakeholders, including land owners, renewable power developers, and more
Experience building and leading world-class teams towards completion of company goals
Experience sourcing and managing contractors and installation partners
An expert in written and verbal communication
Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time to ensure successful deployment of Noya’s projects
