Account Manager - Beer Industry, Promotional Merchandise
Location:
- San Antonio or Austin, TX is preferred. Other potential locations include Dallas, TX; Atlanta, GA; or Woodinville, WA.
- This role follows a flexible onsite schedule and requires working onsite 4 days per week, with 1 remote flex day.
Position Summary
In this role, you are both strategic and sales-driven, managing and growing a portfolio of high-value enterprise and/or hybrid accounts within the branded merchandise industry. The ideal candidate brings deep beer industry expertise and a promotional merchandising background, paired with the confidence to set clear boundaries with clients while maintaining strong, respectful relationships.
Success in this role requires a proven track record of growing revenue to $1M+ annually, combined with a high-touch communication style to keep stakeholders aligned and informed. This role requires a deep understanding of the promotional products space, strong enterprise-level relationship management, and a proven ability to drive revenue growth through strategic planning, value-driven selling, and cross-functional collaboration.
You must be both a strategist and a closer, thriving on expanding client relationships, exceeding sales goals, and delivering creative solutions that align with brand compliance and client marketing objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales & Account Growth
- Own and exceed sales and margin goals across assigned accounts, with a focus on achieving and surpassing $1M+ in annual growth.
- Identify new opportunities within existing accounts to drive incremental revenue through strategic prospecting and relationship building.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, aligning merchandise strategies with their broader marketing and brand objectives.
- Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and Account Business Reviews (ABRs), delivering insights, performance metrics, and strategic roadmaps.
- Forecast revenue and contribute to long-term strategic planning for key accounts.
Client Relationship & Brand Stewardship
- Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders in the beer and beverage space, serving as the primary point of contact.
- Communicate proactively and frequently — often daily, and at times hourly in tight deadlines — to keep clients updated and confident in execution.
- Set and maintain clear boundaries with clients, ensuring professional, respectful partnership dynamics.
- Ensure full compliance with brand guidelines, contracts, and program standards.
- Deliver proactive, solutions-oriented support to meet evolving client needs, acting as both consultant and problem-solver.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Creative, Merchandising, Programs, Sales Ops, Supplier Relations, and other internal teams to deliver a best-in-class client experience.
- Develop merchandise strategies that reflect market trends in beer and beverage promotions, elevating client brands.
- Coordinate and manage multiple complex projects with varying scopes, timelines, and logistical considerations.
Operational Execution
- Ensure client pre-sale, order and approval processes, supplier compliance standards, and production timeline expectations are consistently met.
- Ensure all project communications, updates, and deliverables meet client and internal expectations.
- Accurately log and manage account activity in Salesforce to ensure full pipeline visibility and performance tracking.
Client Events & Onboarding
- Successfully onboard new enterprise clients, ensuring a smooth and strategic launch.
- Coordinate and attend client events as needed, ensuring high satisfaction and brand alignment.
- Participate in departmental and cross-functional meetings as required.
- Other duties as assigned by direct manager, sales leadership, and/or executive team.
Requirements that'll enable success in this role
- Deep experience in the Beer Industry (beer brand, brewery, distributor).
- Proven track record of revenue growth, with past success in driving client accounts to $1M+ annually.
- Promotional merchandising background with knowledge of POS, branded merchandise, and promotional product lifecycle management.
- High-touch communicator, who is comfortable providing proactive updates (daily or even hourly) to keep clients aligned on time-sensitive needs
- Strong yet respectful personality — able to build trust while setting boundaries and managing difficult client dynamics with professionalism.
- 5–7 years in Account Management, Sales, or Client Services roles within the promotional products, CPG, or beverage/alcohol industries.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and consultative selling skills.
- Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM tools, plus ability to manage reporting and forecasting.
- Willingness to travel for client events, QBRs, and industry trade shows.

We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position is $70-82k with additional commission/bonus incentives for driving additional revenues. If you are hired at BDA, your compensation will be determined based on factors that may include geographic location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any offer. In the spirit of pay transparency, the range listed is the full base salary range for the role and hiring at the top of the range would not be typical, in order to allow for future salary growth. The range listed is just one component of BDA’s total compensation and rewards programs, which includes: robust PTO; vacation, a paid volunteer day, holidays and summer Fridays, Benefits; medical, dental, vision, life, and AD&D insurance, 401k; tuition reimbursement, mental health and financial wellness programs and professional development opportunities including tuition reimbursement. Certain revenue-generating positions may be eligible for incentive compensation.
