Finance Analytics Lead
Ultrahuman
Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Drive Data-Driven Financial Strategy: Develop and maintain a comprehensive financial analytics system (internal “dataroom”) that provides real-time visibility into key metrics and North Star KPIs for function owners.
• Investor Reporting & Insights: Lead the preparation of clear, insightful investor reports and management information summaries, translating complex financial data into compelling narratives about Ultrahuman’s growth and efficiency.
• Due Diligence Readiness: Ensure we are always due-diligence ready by implementing rigorous financial controls and documentation processes. You’ll proactively organize financial data and processes so that potential audits or fundraising due diligence can be completed with confidence and speed.
• Cost & Revenue Analysis: Analyze cost structures and revenue streams at a granular level to identify tactical opportunities. Provide actionable recommendations to optimize spend (from R&D to manufacturing to go-to-market) and improve margins without compromising on product quality or innovation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, and product teams to model financial outcomes of projects (e.g., scaling a new production line or launching in a new market). Ensure that first-principles engineering decisions align with financial sustainability and long-term company goals.
Requirements
• Financial Expertise: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. 5+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), analytics, or similar roles, preferably in a high-growth tech or manufacturing environment.
• Analytical Rigor: Exceptional analytical and modeling skills. Proficiency in advanced Excel/Google Sheets and BI tools; ability to build dashboards and models from scratch.
• Strategic Mindset: Experience translating data into strategic insights and recommendations for senior leadership. You can identify trends, synthesize complex information, and articulate the “so what” clearly.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous with numbers and documentation. Proven track record of maintaining accuracy in financial reporting and preparing audit-ready documentation.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication. Able to convey financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders and tell the story behind the numbers.
Preferred Experience:
• Tech/Hardware Background: Experience in a hardware or manufacturing-driven company, understanding BOM (Bill of Materials) cost structures or supply chain finance.
• First-Principles Thinker: Demonstrated ability to approach cost and revenue challenges from first principles — questioning assumptions and devising creative solutions (e.g., new pricing models, cost-saving mechanisms) that others might miss.
• Tools & Systems: Familiarity with modern financial software (ERP, accounting systems) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker). Experience implementing or improving such systems is a plus.
• Leadership: Prior experience leading a small team or cross-functional project in finance, showing an ability to mentor others and drive projects to completion.
